Paul Lorilla

B.A. (University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada)
M.A. (Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada)

Paul was born and raised in a poor barangay (village) in the Philippines where access to basic education can be a key out of poverty. Upon settling in Canada, he was academically exposed to human rights, development, social justice and indigenous issues. Paul has visited various developing countries and has seen first hand the social and economic struggles and inequalities people are facing today. He believes that education is the most valuable tool that can be used to empower children and communities to reach their full potential.

People have so many ideas and solutions regarding how to help those less fortunate. I think in the end, we just need to start with one project and if it influenced change in a positive way, then continue the project in other communities who may need us.
