About 50% of Guatemalan children will experience physical or developmental issues due to malnutrition.
In some communities, this will stunt roughly 8 out of 10 children for life.
Casa Guatemala is located on the shores of Rio Dulce in Guatemala. The Children's Village is sustained by a devoted staff and many volunteers working together with the children to maintain their fish ponds, green house, agriculture and animal farms, clinic and schools.
Housing up to 250 children between 5 and 16 years of age, Casa Guatemala is a haven from abandonment, abuse, and extreme poverty issues in the Rio Dulce area.
The Children's Village is often the only hope for proper nutrition and education of youth from rural and impoverished families. Isa Mundo visited the orphanage in 2008. In partnership with the Emmanuel Foundation, Isa Mundo donated computers to Casa Guatemala in March 2008.
